Case study Mr & Mrs P - Holmfirth

Mr & Mrs P have a traditionally build stone house in Holmfirth. The house had a vented water cylinder and a temperimental shower pump. The hot water flow from the shower and taps was poor, and they were worried about the water feed cistern in the cold loft space.They were also concerned over rising energy prices and the environment.

Solarworxs carried out a full survey, and designed and installed a solar thermal system to suit the customer’s requirements, including a mains pressure hot water cylinder. The installation took just days, and started to save money as soon commissioning was complete. We also removed the redundant water cistern pipework and faulty shower pump.

The specification includes;

  • A Kingspan Thermomax evacuated tube solar panel with 30 tubes
  • 300 litre mains pressure solar water cylinder
  • Pump station and controller
  • Stainless steel preinsulated pipework

Mr P "Its only April and the tank is regularly heated by the sun to 60 degrees. The water pressure is much better, with a powerfull shower and quicker filling bath.The system has been saving us money since the day it was installed.
