Warm water under floor heating is an energy efficient way to heat your home, as well as being much more comfortable than radiators. The heat is evenly distributed around the floor, rather than a very hot area around the radiator, and cooler areas elseware in the room. It gives you warm feet and a cool head, making the room feel less stuffy, and drafts are virtually eliminated. Under floor heating helps the environment, and saves money, as it runs at a lower temperature than conventional heating systems, therefore saving boiler running time and gas. Under floor heating is a continuous loop of special heating pipe that is laid out and fixed down to the insulation. The endless pipe is only jointed at the manifold, where the different zones link up. Each zone has its own thermostat, allowing the home owner to set individual room temperatures for different parts of the house. After the installation is complete and has been pressure tested, it is then covered with a screed to provide a level floor surface. Under Floor Heating also has the benefit of freeing up floor space, you no longer need unsightly radiators, and you can position your furniture just where you want it. Floor coverings can include carpet, tiles, cushion flooring, and engineered wood flooring using adhesive to bond to the screed. Under floor heating is suitable for new builds, conversions, and extensions, but its best to plan for this early in the design stage. For a new build the ground floor installation takes just 2 to 3 days to install. Call us, or email your plans for a fixed price quotation. |
