What is solar water heating?

Each square meter of the UK receives between 900 to 1200kwh of energy from the sun each year. Solar panels catch this free energy and convert it into heat. The solar heated water is stored in a large water cylinder for use whenever required. Solar water heating systems are very reliable, and have typical useful life cycle in excess of 25 years. The energy is collected and converted into hot water for free; the only cost is a very small amount of electricity used to power the low consumption pump.

Solar water heating is the most cost effective, affordable renewable energy technology currently available for domestic and commercial water heating. Solar water heating is also very effective at heating swimming pools and hot tubs.

The process is simple, effective and entirely renewable, something which has to be good for both the environment, and future generations.
